SUMMARY:World Mental Health 2022
DESCRIPTION:The 2022 World Mental Health Day theme ‘Make Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority’ was chosen by a global vote that included WFMH members\, stakeholders and supporters\, and I am very grateful to all of you who participated in this process. \nIn 2021 the UN Secretary-General said that\, without determined action\, the impact of COVID 19 on mental health may last far longer than the pandemic itself. He urged us to act to redress the glaring inequalities exposed by the pandemic\, including the inequality in access to mental health services. \nPeople with lived experience of mental illness\, their families and other disadvantaged populations continue to tell us that their mental health well- being is not always in the mind of governments\, as well as those who pay for services and society at large. \nIn high income countries over 75% of people with depression have reported that they do not receive adequate care and in low and middle-income countries over 75% of people with mental health conditions have received no treatment at all.

SUMMARY:World Stroke Day 2022
DESCRIPTION:The global awareness day was established by WSO and provides a global platform for the stroke community to increase awareness and drive action on stroke around the world. World Stroke Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke and talk about ways in which we can reduce the burden of stroke through better public awareness of the risk factors and signs of stroke. It is also an opportunity to advocate for action by decision makers at global\, regional and national levels that are essential to improve stroke prevention\, access to acute treatment and support for survivors and caregivers. \nFor 2021 and 2022 our campaign will be focused on raising awareness of the signs of stroke and the need for timely access to quality stroke treatment. \n  \n \n  \n
