FRONTIERS HEALTH 2023 Conference features the ALAMEDA’s final dissemination workshop on November 10th
We are pleased to announce the upcoming final dissemination workshop of the ALAMEDA project. This groundbreaking initiative is dedicated to advancing the understanding of brain disease progression, harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence and digital tools. This event provides a unique opportunity to explore the results of nearly three years of intensive work aimed at enhancing outcome predictability and the management of brain diseases.

For almost three years, we have diligently worked to advance knowledge of brain disease progression and improve outcome predictability. We achieved this through the integration of cutting-edge AI, mHealth apps, and sensors into a novel system co-designed with both patients and clinicians.
During the workshop, the international and multidisciplinary ALAMEDA consortium will showcase the innovative features of the tools and methods they designed and validated. This will illustrate how these developments will lead to a better understanding of the dynamics and predictability of changes in a patient’s health condition, thereby informing future efforts to enhance long-term treatment options for neurological patients.
The 90-minute interactive session, moderated by Valentina Tageo of Wise Angle, will feature clinical and technological experts who have played a crucial role in the project’s success.

Panel 1 – The ALAMEDA Data Collection Journey: Innovation and Participatory Design
ALAMEDA’s approach strives for proactive, continuous and preventive healthcare, where individuals are unobtrusively monitored by health technology. We introduce a novel combination of wearable devices and smartphone applications to analyze motor, sleep, emotional, and quality-of-life outcomes. This approach – co-designed with and for patients and healthcare professionals – minimizes intrusiveness and optimizes the utility and accuracy of insights for medical professionals.

Panel 2 – The ALAMEDA Technological Breakthroughs: AI and Digital Tools for Brain Assessment
The consortium has developed innovative AI/ML models and tools, presented in this panel, and conducted an exploratory analysis of the predictive capability of the proposed data collection journey. We have also prototyped and tested innovative wearable and IoT sensors. Our overarching goal is to demonstrate that the combination of monitored variables can provide valuable and actionable insights to medical professionals regarding the patient’s health status.
